Doll Notes
I initially had a different head in mind for this character, but when it arrived I wasn't so sure it was a good match. Shortly after I discovered the Mori9 Lyra head and knew it would be perfect! I was really lucky that someone responsed pretty quickly to my WTB post on DOA! The downside to this sculpt of course being that it didn't come in the resin colour I needed. Despite this, I went ahead and got it anyway, thinking I could just dye it the correct colour. I made a blog post all about getting the head right- it was quite the adventure!
This hybrid turned out to be incredibly difficult. I initially had a 75cm DF H body for him, but when it arrived I was really disappointed with the 'Soom tan' colour I got it in- it was barely tan at all, and so pink! The Soom sample they have must not have been very 'tan' and I know Soom is notorius for their vastly varied tan resins from batch to batch. The second problem was the body was just too big. He looked ridiculous. So, I decided to try something else. I scoured DOA for inspo, hoping to find photos of various companies' tans, and came across a lovely Angelsdoll body for sale. It's old and has some wear, so it was going cheap. It looked a lovely colour on screen, and I decided it was worth trying for the price.
When it arrived I was so happy! The colour was perfect and the sculpting too. I especially love the more muscular arms- something that is uncommon to see on bodies that aren't body builder muscles all over!
